The Buyer feels uncomfortable and feels the he/she cannot speak freely with their agent when you stay home for showings.
3. Didn't freshen up the home
We all think our home is great. Take a look at the home from Buyer’s eyes. Some things that you have “lived with” others may no want to.
4. Get a quick offer and expect more
Always deal fairly with offers, there may not be another one coming. Negotiate in good faith and be content.
5. Price their home to high
Price your home competitively. If it is too high people will not bring an offer. Location, condition and price. It always comes back to price.
6. Waiting until spring to sell
If you are ready to sell, then get your home to market. Don’t let Buyers buy another home and not yours.
7. Not allowing Open Houses
Open Houses are a great way to expose your home to potential Buyers. Neighbours have friends that may want to move into the neighbourhood. Show off your home!
8. Odors stink
Whether it is pet odors, cooking odors or smoking, smell is the strongest sense and smells are the biggest turnoff.
9. Didn't declutter
Rent a storage unit or a portable storage unit, but declutter and show off the space in your home!
10. Expecting 100% return on Reno's
Dollar in does not equal dollar out. Be happy living what you have done to your home, but do not start thinking that Buyers are going to see the same value in your renovations that you do.
